OS Updates is a Jamf Now feature released in December 2017. With OS Updates, a user can initiate an operating system update to a single device, group of devices, or every eligible device in an ecosystem.

How long does it take to update a device?
Devices updates will begin immediately when you click "Install Updates" and may take up to 15 minutes to complete depending on the number of devices, number of updates, and other processes an individual device might already have running.
Can I use OS Updates to prevent a version update?
Unfortunately, that is not possible. Apple's terms and conditions make it very clear that all users must have the ability to stay on the latest version of iOS and macOS software.
Can I send an OS Update command to a device that is in Single App Mode?
Devices that are in Single App Mode are unable to receive OS Update commands. Be sure to push any OS updates you wish to deploy before placing a device in Single App Mode. Devices already in Single App Mode will need to be taken out of this mode to receive the update.
