Blueprints are at the core of Jamf Now and allow you to easily bundle applications, settings and restrictions into one convenient group. After configuring a Blueprint, simply assign devices to that Blueprint to have them download apps and adopt settings and restrictions.
What are Blueprints?
A Blueprint is used to configure settings on an enrolled device. Every Jamf Now account will start with three default Blueprints: Management, Operations, and a third Blueprint that varies depending on your business.
You can create additional Blueprints as needed. Each Blueprint represents a different device configuration that can be used within your deployment. A device will always be associated with (only) one Blueprint.
How to configure a Blueprint
Anytime you move a device to a new Blueprint, the device will receive its new configuration from that Blueprint. Any time you update the settings in a Blueprint, the changes will be applied to all devices linked to that Blueprint.
If you have more than one Blueprint, your users will be able to select the appropriate configuration during Open Enrollment. If a Blueprint is marked as Private, it will not be selectable during Open Enrollment. All Blueprints have a unique URL to bypass the selection process and navigate directly to that configuration, including Private Blueprints.
Blueprints can be preassigned to DEP devices associated with your Jamf Now account. This can be completed before a DEP device turns on.
