A common question is whether Jamf Now can manage a macOS machine that is bound to some form of a directory service (Active Directory, Open Directory, etc). Jamf Now as a product cannot communicate with machines bound to any directory service. Due to this limitation, Jamf Now can only manage local accounts for macOS.
If a directory bound macOS machine is enrolled into Jamf Now, the machine will never submit its inventory with Jamf Now. To correct this communication issue, the machine can be unbound from the directory service under 'System Preferences > Users & Groups' on the machine itself.
